When Alexis, Jonah, Sasha and Isabel found out a beloved family member would be undergoing cancer treatment at Moores Cancer Center at UC San Diego Health they handmade a pillow to keep him comfortable during his treatment sessions.
“We knew this would mean lots of doctor appointments and time away from home. It was important to us to help our family member feel like we were always with him, and so he could feel our love at all times.”
Inside the pillow, the children hid handwritten thoughts of love, hope and good wishes. This one small pillow turned into much more – it turned into project “Stuffed with Love.” The kids sewed more than 100 pillows and delivered them to Moores Cancer Center to share with other people undergoing cancer treatment.
